Swim On ~ A Song

Years ago, when single, I wrote a song called “Swim On,” that plays on the familiar sentiment about there being plenty of fish in the sea. One message of the song is that, while navigating the dating scene in hopes to find a life partner, there is no need to lower one’s standards. “Swim On,” celebrates the value of knowing and loving one’s self enough to be really discerning when pairing up. And ultimately throughout life, regardless of relationship status, it’s so important to know how to be your own best friend. You can listen to “Swim On” on the MUSIC page of my website. It’s the fourth track off of my last album, “Calling Deep.” Click here: https://tammywinn.com/music

I don’t think in terms of heaven and hell
I don’t bank upon equations or spells
I’ve found something larger I can sink my teeth into
Freedom to love; freedom to choose

Sometimes I loose track of my truest self
I get caught up tryin’ to be like somebody else
But it comes full circle and I see that I should stay
Just who I am; how I’ve been made

So many fishes in the sea; so many possibilities
I’m not gonna stop at Mr. Wrong
So many chances I can take;
so many ways my heart may break
But ‘til I find the place where I belong
I’m gonna swim on

6.5 billion people in the world
There’s bound to be somebody right for this girl
So I’m not gonna choose a man in arbitrary haste
This love I have is too good to waste

So many fishes in the sea; so many possibilities
I’m not gonna stop at Mr. Wrong
So many chances I can take;
so many ways my heart may break
But ‘til I find the place where I belong
I’m gonna swim on
I’m gonna swim on

So many fishes in the sea; so many possibilities
I’m not gonna stop at Mr. Wrong
So many chances I can take;
so many ways my heart may break
But ‘til I find the place where I belong
I’m gonna swim on
I’m gonna swim on
Swim on
